    0Loved12Flagge_DE Fünf Jahre nach der Veröffentlichung ihrer letzten Single erschien 2001 der brandneue Song „Loved“. Zwischenzeitlich bei MCA/Universal Records ausgemustert begibt sich Kim Wilde für ein Best-of-Album vertraglich zu EMI. Im November 2001 erscheint „Loved“ als unveröffentlichter Track nur in Europa und dient als Unterstützung für das Best-of-Album „The Very Best Of Kim Wilde“. Als Bonustracks gab es auf der Maxi-CD Remixe von “Kids In America” (D-Bop‘s Bright Lights Mix) und „View From A Bridge“ (RAW Remix).

    Für die Tatsache, dass Kim Wilde 2001 sechs Jahre lang keine Single und auch kein Album mehr veröffentlicht hat und während dieser Zeit auch keine große Medienpräsenz hatte, konnte man mit „Loved“ wieder einen kleinen Erfolg verbuchen. Seit langem schaffte man es wieder mit einer Single einen Einstieg in die Charts in mehreren Ländern. Am erfolgreichsten war man mit diesem Titel in Belgien. Dort entwickelte sich „Loved“ zu einem Top-10-Hit und erreichte mit Platz 7 seine beste Platzierung. In Deutschland gab es leider keinen Charterfolg zu vermelden – ohne Video zur Single und ohne TV Auftritte auch nicht weiter verwunderlich. Etwas verwunderlich war es schon, als man im Frühjahr 2002 den selben Titel als Remix wiederveröffentlichte. Doch auch der „Pulsedriver vs. Beam“ Remix sollte ohne Video und TV Promotion auskommen und so erreichte man außer einem Achtungserfolg in den German Dance Charts keine weiteren Charterfolg.

    Ein weiteres Indiz für „Loved“ als geplante „Eintagsfliege“ ist auch an den Coverbildern erkennbar. Anstatt für die Single und das Album neue Fotos zu verwenden, griff man lieber auf altes Bildmaterial aus dem Jahr 1995 zurück.

In the meantime Kim lost her record contract with MCA/Universal and changed to EMI for a compilation album. In November 2001 “Loved” was released in Europe to support the best-of-album “The Very Best Of Kim Wilde”. The cd-single contains remixes of “Kids In America” (D-Bop’s Bright Lights Mix) and “View From A Bridge” (RAW Remix).

    The fact that Kim Wilde was absent from public since her last single and album release five years ago, the responsne of “Loved” was great. The single was a little hit. It was most successful in Belgium, where it became a top-10-hit there peaked at number 7. In Germany the single didn’t enter the ccharts. It was expected – without a video and without any tv appearances means no chart entry. For some reasons the same song was released in spring 2002 in a remixed version. The “Pulsedriver vs. Beam Remix” also was released without a video and without any tv promo. As a result, the single only got some good response in the German Dance Charts but without entering the official charts.

    Another sign for this “one-hit-wonder” was the fact that EMI used old pictures from 1995 for the single and album release instead using new material by spending money for a photo session.
